25 Days, 26 Days Giveaway

Back in September, I had the opportunity to review 25 Days, 26 Ways to Make This Your Best Christmas Ever by Ace Collins. You can see my review here.

Christmas is only about 12 weeks away, and I have already began some of my shopping and thinking about what I am going to bake, etc.

One thing that impacted me after reading Ace Collins book is the importance of traditions during the holiday season. One very important one for me and my family is celebrating the birth of Jesus. We always attend a church service on Christmas Eve and last year we even made a birthday cake for Baby Jesus (and had to sing Happy Birthday too, as this was very important to my then two year old!).

Since I am celebrating my one year blogoversary, I have decided to give my copy of "25 Days, 26 Ways" to one lucky reader! This copy was provided to me by Zondervan Publishers, and is the hardcover edition.

TO ENTER (Mandatory): Tell me one of your favorite Christmas traditions, is it something that you did as a child or a new tradition that you started as an adult?

  1. My family always read the Christmas story from the Bible on Christmas Eve - just before bed...and normally next to a nice warm fire. I loved it because Christmas Day could get kind of hectic, and it was nice to have those quiet moments to reflect on why Christmas is so special!

  2. My favorite Christmas tradition is that my whole extended family on my mom's side is together for 4 or 5 days for presents and food and good times.

  3. Our family always goes to Christmas Eve mass and we all gather at Grandmaa's on Christmas day. Family in every way is what Christmas is all about!

Thanks for the chance to win, this looks like a really great book.

  4. How wonderful.. The book sounds great.. My family always goes to the local orphanage and spends Christmas Eve with the kids there. We sponsor a meal or take cakes and cookies with us and small gifts for all the kids.. It does get a little expensive but the joy we see on their faces makes it all so worth it:-)

  8. My favorite tradition that we do at Christmas is that even now as adults with our own little families, my sisters and I (along with our spouses and children) all go to church on Christmas eve with my parents and then all go back over to our parents' house and spend the night and celebrate Christmas morning all together and even spend the night on Christmas day too. It's a whole 2-3 days of being together that we look forward to every year.

  11. My favorite Christmas tradition is on November 30th we make anticipation chains for the kids. We spend the day together making the chains and then each morning they remove a link on the chain, counting down to Christmas. It really builds excitement for the whole month of December.

  13. As a kid, we always went to our local church's Christmas Eve program, then over to my Grandparents for a warm snack afterward.

    I miss those days!

  15. My favorite Christmas tradition is something we call the 12 days of Christmas. Each of the 12 days, the kids receive a small gift in their tiny 12 days stockings. This is a tradition that my husband grew up with.

  22. We ALWAYS drive around looking at lights and play the John Denver Christmas with the Muppets CD--well, when I was little we played it on a record, then a tape, NOW a CD! We've started some new traditions with our family now: our daughter donates gently used books and toys to someone that needs them, we pick a name from the senior citizen tree at the local Wal-mart and buy that person a gift, and we read the story of the true meaning of Christmas, the first Christmas, to our daughter. I LOVE Christmas!!!
