Hearing From God Each Morning Review & Giveaway

About The Book:

In the hustle and bustle of today's busy world, sometimes it's hard enough to hear yourself think, much less take a minute to stop and listen for the voice of God. But learning to recognize God's voice and the many ways in which He speaks is vital for following His plan. This devotional; drawing from How to Hear From God, Knowing God Intimately, and The Power Of  Simple Prayer shows the reader through a daily reminder, how God speaks through their own thoughts and feelings, their dreams, and the words of other people. Joyce Meyer reveals the ways in which God delivers His word and the benefits of asking God for the sensitivity to hear His voice. Joyce asks the question, "Are you listening?" and shares how to do just that...on a daily basis.

My Review:

As with most people, at the beginning of a new year, I am always looking for encouraging books, particularly devotionals, to move me onto the new year. Well I recently received this book from Hachette Book Group to review and I was not disappointed.

It is full of encouraging words, and one statement in particular struck me. For a long time my husband and I prayed to God to "give us the desire of our hearts" so that we could have a child. We prayed over and over and though it took almost five years, our prayers were answered. Joyce Meyer makes this statement in Hearing From God Each Morning:

"If you have prayed and find yourself
waiting longer than you had planned for
an answer, thank God that He is working
when are are tempted to be impatient.
Tell God what you are expecting and look
forward to your breakthrough.
Don't fall into the trap of complaining
and murmuring while you wait either.
Be joyfully confident that your
answer is on the way."
(p. 209, July 28)

This devotional is the perfect size to carry in your book bag, purse or diaper bag, and would also make a great gift. I highly recommend this book to all those readers who are looking for encouragement through short, one page devotionals for 365 days of the year!
