Jenna's Cowboy Book Review & Giveaway

About The Book:

Can you ever get a second chance at your first love?

Jenna Callahan Colby thought she was content. A partner on her father's successful ranch, she is surrounded by family and friends. But she never expected to see Nate Langley back in town--the first guy she ever noticed, the one her father sent away all those years ago.

And she never thought the attraction they felt would be as strong as ever.

Jenna's cowboy has some healing of his own to do, though, after two tours of duty in the armed forces. With the help of good friends, strong faith, and a loving family, he hopes to put the horrors of the past behind him--and become the man Jenna deserves.

My Review:

This is the first time I have had the opportunity to read Sharon Gillenwater's work and I was not disappointed. This book is a very easy and quick read (I read it in two days). There were a couple of plots within the book, a military personnel coming home from the war, his trials and tribulation as a result of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the start of his recovery, his budding romance with a former high school crush, and all the various family dynamics within the two families involved in the book. Even with all this going on, the book flowed wonderfully.

It was released January 2010 by Revell Books, a divison of Baker Publishing and is the first book in Gillenwater's series entitled, The Callahans of Texas. Book Two, Emily's Chance is tentatively scheduled for release in September 2010. I look very forward to reading it!

If you like Christian fiction, particularly romance and real-life issues, you will enjoy this book. I give a huge thumbs up!

  18. I headed over to the Revell Books and found so many I would love to read! One particular that I not only would love to read, but NEED to read is "Becoming Your Spouse's Better Half: Why Differences Make a Marriage Great". I've been married for almost 20 years and the differences between us are becoming harder to live with, rather than easier. I feel like after this long, we should have adjusted, sheesh! Instead I just find myself thinking, I can't go through this (whatever) once again.
I need a fresh perspective on how to appreciate and deal with our differences instead of despairing.

Wow, that was too long! TMI, sorry!

Back to the giveaway, hehehe, I love Christian fiction. I'm lucky to have a well-stocked library, which is where this book will eventually go if I'm lucky enough to win it.
