My Review:

If you are planning to make 2010 the year that you lose the weight you have been wanting to, then this book will definitely help. It is filled with great ideas and encouragement for the wonderful journey to a permanent weight loss.

This book is NOT a diet. It is all about life style changes. Diets are not permanent. I know from experience that any time I did something "short term" to lose weight, the weight came back and usually extra weight was gained in the process.

This book is set up in a very easy to read and understand fashion. The first half of the book is written in such a way to encourage the reader and help increase the reader's self confidence, while the second half of the book goes into specifics of the One Day Way lifestyle.

One of the points made in The One Day Way is Faith, Food, and Fitness - these are the foundational principles upon which writes her book. Not only must actions change, but the way we think about ourselves, goals, and achievements must change too.

One day at a time, one action and step at a time. Little goals are much more successful than looking at big picture. I love this!!!! I have about 65-70 lbs to lose and when I look at that number, I am so overwhelmed. However, when I use the ideas from The One Day Way, I am so much more at ease/peace about the journey I am embarking on to lose the weight.

Rebuild your life with good tools, says Hobbs, and you will achieve the right kind of success.

Bite sized, daily, achievable goals are the ones that build success and are easier to stick with. They are also the ones that are easiest to jump back into if we slip up.  Hobb's includes a sample meal plan, and awesome exercises. One word of caution, whenever you are attempting a new weight loss program, or incorporating exercise into your lifestyle when its been virtually non-exisistent previously, ALWAYS consult your physician before starting out. Particularly if you have health concerns such as diabetes, allergies, etc.

  4. Portion control, if you do without something to lose weight you tend to crave it more. Then you binge so I just try to eat the right portions.
