A Distant Melody Blog Tour

About The Book:

Will a chance meeting in a time of war change her life forever?
Never pretty enough to please her gorgeous mother, Allie will do anything to gain her approval--even marry a man she doesn't love. While Allie has nearly resigned herself to that fate, Lt. Walter Novak--fearless in the cockpit but hopeless with women--takes his last furlough at home in California before being shipped overseas.

Walt and Allie meet and begin a correspondence that will change their lives. As letters fly between Walt's muddy bomber base in England and Allie's mansion in an orange grove, their friendship binds them together. But can they untangle the secrets, commitments, and expectations that keep them apart?
Book 1 in the Wings of Glory series, A Distant Melody is an exciting and tender story of love, courage, and sacrifice during World War II.

My Review:

This was an amazing read! Well done to Sarah Sundin on a wonderful debut novel, and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series. The writing was fabulous, and the characters were so real, and enjoyable! This book was so detailed with regards the World War II and it is extremely obvious that Sundrin did some very extensive research in order to make the descriptions and characters so real to the reader. It is a fast paced book, that I did not want to put down and I can't wait for book 2 to be released in September 2010.

The messages of the importance of honesty and a relationship with God are very evident throughout this book. This book has something for everyone...romance, suspense, Faith message, and you will impacted greatly after reading this book.

If you are a fan of historical fiction, you will love this book. However, it is not the "typical" historical fiction novel with cliche characters and settings. It will change the way you look at historical fiction for sure.

I highly recommend this book and give it a thumbs up!

  1. Thank you so much for your lovely review! I often describe A Distant Melody as historical romance for people who don't like historical romance :)
