Disciplines Of A Godly Woman: A Book Review
Life isn't always easy for women today! In the shuffle of so many responsibilities, it's easy to lose focus on pursuing godliness in every task. That's why a woman must train herself to reflect on everything she encounters and determine whether or not it encourages holiness. Her character, relationships, ministry, even her soul--all need to be examined and ultimately surrendered to God before she can develop the godly character she so desperately wants. Through poignant stories and faithful reminders, Barbara Hughes encourages women to discipline every area so that God is most glorified and they are most unified with Him.
About The Author:
Barbara Hughes has supported her husband Kent’s pastoral ministry for 37 years while also raising four children. She is a popular teacher of women’s groups and, together with Kent, has authored Common-Sense Parenting and Liberating Ministry from the Success Syndrome.

This was the first book I have read by Barbara Hughes, and I am so glad that I chose to review this particular book! This book is organized into every imaginable topic for every woman, whether married or single, mom or not. Topics include submission, money, marriage, singleness, and our behavior. The book is divided into four sections: Soul, Character, Relationships and Ministry. All of the author's points are backed up with sound scriptural advice and life experiences from all walks of life! It is an extremely easy to read and well written book. I love the fact that you can either read it right through (as I did for the purpose of review) or you can read it chapter by chapter, based on your needs or stage in life (which I am planning to do again). I highly recommend this book for all woman, and give it a HUGE thumbs up!
