My Gym At Home: DVD & CD Review & Giveaway!

I am a firm believer of having a variety of learning activities in my childrens' daily routine. This includes reading, art, music and many other fun activities that will teach them basic preschool concepts through play! Playing is learning is my philosophy with regards to Early Childhood Education and for life! Even adults learn through play! One part of play that I love to make sure my children get daily is active play. Through active play children learn how to listen to rules, take turns, social interactions, cooperative play and many other lessons. Also, keeping children active can help lessen the epidemic that we know is childhood obesity.

I recently was approached to review My Gym At Home DVD, from Baby First TV!

My Review:

I was very excited to be able to review both the My Gym At Home DVD and The Activators CD, as well as TheActivators.net website.

First, the DVD. As it is designed specifically for children under three, my girls are almost too big for the DVD but it has been so fun watching the girls sing the songs and do the movements. My oldest, who is 3.5, uses her dolls to do the exercises with. It is so adorable! I even hear the girls singing the songs throughout the day! Another great benefit is that the DVD came with a small booklet that teaches both parents and children simple sign language. The music is fun and lively and keeps the attention of children throughout the 45 minutes the DVD lasts. I highly recommend this DVD!!!

Now, the CD from The Activators! What a fun CD! You and your children will be bopping and singing along in no time! There is a mix of original speaking parts and well known children's songs like This Old Man, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Little Teapot, Alphabet Song and others! In total there are 22 tracks on the CD, which lasts about a half hour. My kids LOVED this CD. I haven't been able to go a day without playing it at least once! Now that said, it does get a little overwhelming, and I am so glad to switch to different music after a while, LOL! Overall though, it is a fun CD and I highly recommend it!

Finally, TheActivators.net is an amazing website! There are videos to watch and interact with, printable coloring pages, paper crafts and activity sheets, and  a section just for parents, where you can sign up your child to become an official member of The Activators Club! It is a great website and I strongly encourage you and your child(ren) to check it out today!

These products are all great to get kids active, and since May is National Fitness Month, they will get you and your children headed on the road to physical fitness in a fun way!

  1. One way that I helped my daughter to stay fit was to encourage her to try out for the local swim team. She had completed all of the swimming lessons. She tried out and made it. In the course of the first summer on the team, she lost an amazing amount of weight and never had a weight problem again. Now she has my grandson enrolled in swimming lessons.
