Real Moms...Real Jesus: Book Review

About The Book:

What does Jesus know about the peanut-butter-and-jelly life of a mom? Plenty! Jill Savage, founder and director of Hearts at Home, introduces the real Jesus to real moms. In chapters that examine key behaviors and decisions Jesus made during His life on earth, Jill brings those lessons right down to the laundry-filled, sticky-fingered days every mother knows.

Between the chapters are interactive vignettes that provide brief, refreshing glimpses into real, messy, busy lives. Jill continually reminds the reader that Jesus is not an unattainable deity, but a Friend who understands.

About The Author:

Jill Savage is the founder and executive director of Hearts at Home, an organization committed to helping moms love their life. She and her husband, Mark, a senior pastor, have been married for over two decades and have five children, one of whom is married.

My Review:

As I read Real Moms...Real Jesus I could not help but be encouraged in my walk with the Lord. Savage brings scripture to life in many wonderful stories and illustrations about how moms can rediscover the Jesus that will give them strength to get through everyday life!

The book of Matthew is one of my favorites and Savage gives the reader wonderful ideas about how to really live out the way God intended, and Jesus modeled, for us to live.

If you want to learn just how similar Jesus' life was to ours as moms, then you have to read this book. You will be encouraged, you will laugh and you will be prompted to live your life for Christ, even in the busyness of being "Mom"! Taking time for ourselves and God is the basis of this book, learning to pray and allowing Jesus to be our friend are the goals of this book, and they were definitely reached as I read it.

This book would be perfect for a mom's Bible Study or MOPS program, as it includes a wonderful study guide.  I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
