Young Picasso Art Kit: Review & Giveaway!

Recently I introduced you all to a wonderful company called Noodlehead Fun Toys, through my review of Travel Buddies. Well, I am once again excited to introduce you to another wonderful Noodle Head Fun product: Young Picasso Art Kit!!

As many moms of children know, creative play is typically a favorite activity of toddlers and preschoolers alike. They love to create and tell you all about their beautiful masterpieces. Many of us have piles (and piles and piles) of masterpieces you dare not get rid of, because if you are caught, you will face the wrath of a very upset child! The messier craft activity, the better it is, in the eyes of the children especially. Arts and crafts are fundamental to the creative development of children, and Noodlehead Fun has developed a fantastic product to bring out the artist in your preschool aged child!

About Noodlehead Fun Toys:

Five years ago, in the pursuit of heroism in the eyes of our own children, Eric & Chris Ryan entered the business of creating fun for kids.

We've managed to noodle, nurture, and grow an exciting set of products over those years with an incredibly hard-working and talented team, whom we can never thank enough.
With each exciting new concept released by Noodle Head, we simply love watching kids light up with creative excitement as they anticipate, play, pretend, design, paint & glue.

NoodleHead Fun carries a fantastic array of toys and products for children of ALL ages.

You can see the full product line here

About The Young Picasso's Art Kit:

This kit was a wonderful suggestion from a parent whose son wanted to paint the wall in his room - they compromised and he painted and hung canvas instead! Our canvas painting kit is a terrific way for young kids to be creative with paint and brush, and then proudly hang their art. Kids' art looks amazing on canvas!

The kit includes a large stretched canvas, and two small canvas boards that make wonderful framed gifts. We've included superior acrylic paints and brushes, a plastic pallet for mixing colors, and a booklet introducing different art styles from famous artists, all in a box with plastic carrying handle. Ages 4+

My Review:

I was really excited to be able to review the Young Picasso's Art Kit, as my daughter loves to do crafts and create things. So when I received the kit, we decided to make a special gift for someone. Makayla decided she wanted to make a picture for her Aunt's upcoming wedding (so cute!). That is what we did. We waited until her baby sister was in bed and got down to the business of creating a masterpiece!

I was so impressed with the quality of supplies in this kit. And everything you need is there, other than an Art Smock. Working with Acrylic Paints, I highly recommend the smock! The large canvas measures 16"x20" and the two smaller canvas' measure 5"x7" each. Of course my daughter picked the large canvas.

This project was hugely successful in my eyes! Makayla painted for 45 minutes, and was so excited to be "making a present for the wedding". In the end, she went with a "darker" theme, and ended up mixing all the colors together, but I love that she was able to choose what she wanted.

When it comes to art, self-expression is key, and the Young Picasso's Art Kit definitely gives a child the gift of choice, with five paint colors to choose from (black, white, red, blue and yellow). She not only painted, but wanted to do "homework" with the paint. When I asked her what she meant, she said, "you know make new colors"....so off we went to do some science homework! We ended up making green, purple and orange paint as a result! Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of the masterpiece at the moment, but will post one as soon as I do! (The created masterpiece has relocated to Texas!)

As impressed with the kit as my daughter and I were, I was equally impressed with the shipping time and customer service! Shipping was very quickly, considering it was from the U.S. to Canada. I received my Young Picasso's Art Kit in less than two weeks! Also, customer service questions were answered quickly and thoroughly (thanks Susan!).

If you have a young artist or creative person in your home, than the Young Picasso's Art Kit is for you! It will make the perfect birthday or Christmas gift for all genders and ages!

  1. I love this idea! My son loves to create and so after he paints or draws we either frame it or place it on the fridge. I also think that giving him time in the day to be creative is important!

  18. My son is very creative and he will take pieces of "trash" and make something out of it. Recently we had a lot of scrap wood in the yard and he made a little club house for him and his sister to play in.

  29. My grandson loves to build things with his set of Tinker toys. It is amazing to me how he puts the pieces together. He also loves to demonstrate what happened at school that day. If they ran back and forth across the room at school, he has to run back and forth across the room at home when he tells the story.

    Thank you,

  34. The way that I encourage creativity is to let my kids explore, giving them an opportunity to paint/design whatever they want...if their self portrait has 7 eyes oh well...I think the process is much more important than the final product.
