As many of you know, I have been on a weight loss journey this year and so far, so good - 25lb lost since January. I admit though, lately I have been in a rut - almost a plateau of sorts, bored of my workouts and looking for something to step it up a notch.
The 30 Day Method by Tracy Anderson definitely has the potential to be that for me. The book is loaded with great ideas, the meal plan seems very easy to follow, and having tried a few of the recipes included, I can say they are very good. The recipes include:
I recently discovered the wonderful rice alternative, Quinoa, and was very excited to find this recipe in The 30 Day Method:
Quinoa Porridge With Apple Compote
1/2 cup Wuinoa
1/2 cup Apple Juice
1/2 cup Orange Juice
1 Sweet Apple (such as Gala or Fuji)
1/4 cup Blueberries
In a saucepan, slowly cook the quinoa with the juices, stirring occasionally. This should take about 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, steam the apple. Peel the apple and blend it in a food processor. Add blueberries and puree lightly.
Serve porridge as soon as it is ready, topping it with the fruit compote
Portion size: 4 ounces
This recipe was really yummy, even my girls loved it! Most of the recipes seem very easy to follow, and use everyday ingredients for the most part.
