DREAM TEAM Holiday Open House Day 2: Family Christmas Activity Ideas

One thing that I love doing with my family during the month of December is a one special activity each day. This not only serves as a "countdown to Christmas" but also ensures that as a family, we are spending quality time together each day. Here are some activity ideas for the entire family to enjoy. These are in no particular order, and some are dependent on where you live geographically (if you have no snow, some activities may not work for you)

1. Go sledding together

2. Watch a favorite Christmas movie (in fact take turns once a week, watching the favorite movie of each person in the family)

3. Bake cookies

4. Head outdoors and build a snowman

5. Decorate the Christmas Tree

6. Put together a box of non-perishable food items and deliver it as a family to your local food bank

7. Have a Holiday Sing Along

8. Build a Gingerbread House together

9. Take a Ride to look at Christmas lights as a family (or even a walk around your neighborhood)

10. Take cookies to your local senior's center

11. Learn to say "Merry Christmas" in Five different languages

12. Read a Christmas Story

13. Write letters to Santa

15. Do a Christmas craft like a paper chain or snowflakes with glitter

16. Dress "fancy" at dinner time one evening

17. Have a Breakfast supper (pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc)

18. Have a cup of Hot Chocolate

19. Host a Christmas get-together with friends in your home

20. Make a list of 10 things you are thankful for and hang it where you can see it daily
