Holiday Gift Guide Day 13: The 12 Elves Book Review and Giveaway

With Christmas just around the corner, I wanted to introduce you to a book that will be perfect to share with the young children in your life!

About The Book:

Did you ever wonder how Santa knows when to deliver toys each Christmas Eve?

One each of the twelve nights leading up to Christmas Day, you can read about a new elf. Then say the "magic" phrase after each one, and when Santa hears you, he'll send each elf out to hide while you are sleeping. The next morning you can look for each one and then place him or her under your tree. When all twelve elves are under your tree, they will make sure that everything is ready for Santa's big arrival!

The 12 Elves is sure to become a family tradition that the whole family will look forward to for years to come.

Count down to Christmas with The 12 Elves as they celebrate the holiday season in this novelty book with twelve festive press-out elves

About The Author:

Marina Fedotova was born in Moscow City, Russia, where she is still living and working today as a professional illustrator. She describes her art as "full of kindness and witty humor." Marina, who was classically trained as a watercolorist, loves adding minute details such as the knit on a woolen scarf or a fluttering butterfly overhead. She is inspired by the puppeteers who make their own dolls and perform locally to her. She, like them, loves to bring her creations to life.

My Review:

A fun, brightly illustrated way to countdown to Christmas as a family. With whimsical elves and lovely descriptions, you will get to meet a delightful group of Santa's little helpers.

I loved this book, and my children did too. We read it through once, and then I managed to sneak it away, keeping it safe for our family Christmas celebrations in December. Although we emphasis the Birth of Jesus Christ in our home during Christmas, my children know who Santa is, and this book will be a fun way to countdown with them.

A great addition to your family Christmas reading traditions.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up.

  7. Well Shirley, we just started a tradition this year (now that Speedy is old enough to really benefit from it). We're going to pick a country every year and incorporate a tradition from that country into our Christmas celebration. We also get an angel of the Salvation Army angel trees who is the same age as Speedy. Then he picks out the gift for him.
