Holiday Gift Guide Day 13: Meet The Squeegees CD Review and Giveaway

Music is huge in my home, and when I say huge that is exactly what I mean. Between my husband and I we own about 300 CD's. Seriously, that is a lot of muisc, and that does not even include our children's music, or seasonal music. We love music, and I am always on the hunt for new music to listen to, whether it is for myself, my husband or the girls. Every style and genre is represented in our home, and I am so excited to introduce you to a group I recently had the pleasure of reviewing, The Squeegees

Rescuing legions of parents from the torturous children’s music of the past, The Squeegees provide an irresistibly playful musical adventure for the entire family. Parents love the positive messages emphasized in their songs, including environmental awareness, animal rescue, and healthy eating, while the band's younger fans have a blast singing and dancing along to such tunes as “Apples, Oranges and Peaches”, “Nala the Chihuahua”, “The Elements of the Earth”, “Making Noises”, and “Rules of the Road.” Featuring eco-conscious songs, liberating songs, sweet songs, and most of all, fun songs all arranged for vocals, acoustic guitar, and a shaker or two, their self-titled, debut EP is available now at www.meetthesqueegees.com. All of their music is appropriate for infants, toddlers, and the parents and grandparents who love them.

Samantha Tobey and Pierre De Reeder are the kids-at-heart behind this grass-roots musical journey. As a former “Mommy and Me,” music/movement, and baby sign language teacher, Samantha brings a natural flair and years of experience to her passion for interacting and working with children. Pierre is the bass player for the well known rock band Rilo Kiley and a father himself. They are joined by Rich “Shaka” Sherwood on the drums. He has been teaching drum lessons to children for years and loves being a SqueeGee.

My Review:

What an absolutely fun CD! We have had a blast dancing and singing along to Meet The Squeegee's! With music and lyrics that both adults and children will love and relate to, you will tapping your feet the entire time you listen to this CD. My girls love the song, "Apples, Oranges and Peachs" and I really loved all 14 tracks!

You will have fun dancing and singing but will also learn about healthy eating, taking care of the Earth and more. Definitely not your typical children's music and I love that....there is only so many times I can listen to "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "The ABC Song" in one day (if you are a mom, you know exactly what I mean!)

A great stocking stuffer idea for the music lover in your life, whether young or young-at-heart. I highly recommend Meet The Squeegees and give this CD a huge thumbs up.

  1. I would love to win this CD for my daughter and grandson as they love to dance around their home. My daughter has always been a music lover, and she is raising my grandson to enjoy music and dancing. This would be something that they would really enjoy.
