Monkey Monkey Music: The Videos DVD Review and Giveaway

About Monkey Monkey Music:

Monkey Monkey Music is a children's music program developed by Meredith LeVande, an educator and songwriter who has close to a decade of experience working with preschool aged children. Monkey Monkey Music is a continuously evolving project that's committed to conscious and quality based music and media which puts the best interests of children first. Learning and music is a fun, joyous, experience for children, which is why Meredith's collection of songs and live performances continuously engage both children and adults for years on end. Celebrations can be educational, and education should be fun which is why her shows, parties and programs are so successful.

Both Meredith's live performances, and simple listening experiences galvanize and unify groups of people, both young and old to "jump high", "shake it loud," and celebrate the topics that reference the lives and desires of young children while fostering connections between groups of people as a whole.

Monkey Monkey Music has performed at such venues as the ESPN annual summer outing, Tribeca Film FestivalVictorian Gardens at Wollman Rink in Central ParkPottery Barn KidsBabies"R"UsDylan's Candy Bar and Tarrytown Third Friday, as well as for famous NYC celebrities and such prominent parent groups asBig City Moms. It was chosen as one of New York 's best affordable children's performers by Time Out New York Kids, and has been featured in Parenting, and on Kidz Bop Preschool On DemandSIRIUS Satellite RadioPandora Internet RadioPreschool Radio, and various other children's music radio programs around the country. And now, the new DVD Monkey Monkey Music: The Videos with Meredith LeVande has won aNAPPA Honors Award and was endorsed by KIDS FIRST!: Coalition for Quality Children's Media.

About The Videos DVD:

With the help of her animated and real friends, Meredith LeVande sings 15 catchy children’s songs about everyday concepts to which young children can relate. Each is brought to life on video with kids, props, animated cut outs and simple special effects. Some of the lyrics are simple and repetitive and presented in a sing-song style, allowing young kids to easily learn and sing along. Parents can also turn on lyric captions to teach words and help older children to read along. No two segments are exactly alike; there is a lot of variety of video technique and each segment is uniquely choreographed. Meredith shares the stage and it’s fun to watch her interact with the kids.

My Review:

Throughout my career as an Early Childhood Educator, and now mom to preschoolers, I have listened to my share of children's music. If you are a parent or educator you can probably relate to the experience of listening to the same songs over and over. And more often than not, children's music is so not appealing to adults.

Well I am pleased to introduce you to a wonderful woman who makes music for children, that even parents and other adults will enjoy!

Monkey Monkey Music with Meredith Levande is a perfect combination of energetic sounds and fun lyrics that will have both you and the children in your life moving and singing along!

At only 36 minutes, it is the perfect length to keep the attention of young children. Even my two year old loves it! To see my children enjoying music, dancing and singing along just fills me with joy. The songs are all so cute, but my favorite was "Can You Paint A Rainbow?" and "Jump High" (this was also my girls' fave).

If you are looking for a new music video DVD to introduce to any children in your life, I highly recommend Monkey Monkey Music: The Videos from Meredith LaVande!
