You Can Be A Friend: Book Review and Giveaway

About The Book:

A new children's book written by parents extraordinaire Tony and Lauren Dungy! You Can Be a Friend is the first title in Tony and Lauren Dungy's series of children's books which feature inspirational stories that remind kids of the importance of family, friends, and self-confidence. In this story, Jade has been planning to have her birthday party at a water park, but her new friend, Hannah, is in a wheelchair. Now Jade has a decision to make: is it more important to keep her party where she planned, or to make sure all her friends have fun? Tony and Lauren Dungy present this subtly beautiful story, which will help any parent explain that having limitations can never limit the boundaries of friendship

About The Authors:

Lauren and Tony Dungy are active members of many organizations, including All Pro Dad, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, iMom, Moms and Kids for Christ, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Tony is a former NFL player and the retired head coach of the 2006 Super Bowl Champions, the Indianapolis Colts. Tony and Lauren are the proud parents of seven children.

About The Illustrator:

Ron Mazellan teaches art at Indiana Wesleyan University. He received a BA from Wheaton College and holds a MA from California State University. After graduation he became a graphic designer and commerical illustrator, and has illustrated several books for children. He lives with his family in Marion, Indiana.

My Review:

The first thing that I noticed about You Can Be A Friend by Tony and Lauren Dungy is the illustrations. They are stunning and draw you into the book in a beautiful manner. With a powerful message of friendship and not judging people based on appearance and ability, children of all ages (and adults too!) will learn so much while reading You Can Be A Friend.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!

  6. Good morning! I'm visiting from iFellowship. It's great to get a book review from a Christian perspective. I just hate buying a book (or any product for that matter) and getting an unpleasant surprise. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
