Flame On: A DVD Review

About The Movie:

This movie has been approved by The Dove Foundation for family viewing.

How would you react when tragedy strikes? Would your faith in an all loving God waver? Would you turn your back on the Lord?

Filmed Just months after the extreme loss of a loved one, this DVD follows the Jasper family through the heart wrenching and faith stretching question of "Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?" Watch and marvel at how a strong Christian family deals with the emotions of shock, loss and grief from a Biblical perspective.

Flame On illustrates the struggle between the sovereignty of God and human responsibility while examining how faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can take you from the very bottom of despair to victory through tragedy. This film is a "must see" for those grieving the loss of a loved one and will leave you with a peaceful knowledge that we serve a gracious, loving God who gives us light through the dark moments of life.

"There are no words to describe how we hurt", said J.J. Jasper. "But God's sovereignty and His character do not change. He is still a good God. We knew that intellectually, and now we know it experientially."

FLAME ON features appearances by:
• Dr. James Dobson,
• Syndicated radio host and author Dr. David Jeremiah,
• Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors,
• Alex and Stephen Kendrick, co-writers and director of FIREPROOF and the upcoming
Sherwood Pictures film COURAGEOUS; and the music of Nichol Sponberg and
Michael O'Brien

The Story Behind FLAME ON
In many ways, J.J. and Melanie Jasper, and their four children, were living an idyllic life. J.J. is the popular host of American Family Radio’s national morning show "J.J. and Ron." They were raising their family on a small farm in Mississippi. They tried to live out their faith and model it for their children. Cooper, their youngest, was an especially bright light, a little boy who loved life and delighted all he met. Then, literally in an instant, a tragic accident claimed his life.

Offering uplifting hope but no easy answers in the face of this hard reality, FLAME ON follows the Jasper family’s struggle to grasp who God is and where He is when tragedy strikes. FLAME ON features open, honest interviews with the Jaspers and many friends who walked through the experience with them.

Woven throughout their questioning and tears is a stirring testimony to their faith and God’s faithfulness.

My Review:

What an amazing story Flame On tells. You will follow the story of Cooper Jasper and the legacy his tragic death has left on his family and everyone they meet. Tears will be shed as you see the hand of God on this family and how He has brought them through the absolute worst thing a parent can experience - the loss of a child. I cannot even begin to imagine what they have gone through, but I know God is faithful and He is shown His strength to the Jasper family over and over since this tragic event ocurred.

Every family needs to view this DVD and be reminded that we don't control our lives - God does. His ways are NOT our ways, and I will never understand this side of heaven why things happen like this. But I know He takes the bad and turns it into God, we just have to surrender our whole selves to Him and let Him.  A beautiful, encouraging video that is a must see, particularly for anyone going through a difficult time in their life right now. The Sovereignty of God is seen throughout this DVD and throughout this family's life!

BUY IT: Flame On is available on DVD via donation. You can order it for $5.00 (covers shipping) here.
