My Review:

What a life changing book Transforming Prayer has been for me!.

This book really opened my eyes to what prayer truly is all about. Instead of the typical "needs" or "grocery list" prayers, we are called to worship through our prayer. Henderson does a fantastic job at laying out what prayer is and is not. My copy of Transforming Prayer is very marked up and I still continue to find nuggets that have changed my entire thought process about prayer. There are a few quotes from the book that I just loved:

" Frustration comes from bombarding heaven with our own ideas of what God should do to accomplish our will in heaven. Fulfillment comes form knowing that His will is being implemented in our lives" (p.133)

"The fundamental difference between our prayer lists and the prayer concerns we find in the Bible is that we pray about personal problems, while most of the biblical prayers focus on Christ's purposes" (p.87)

"It is worship based prayer that cultivates a deep repentance in His presence, a growing desperation for His power, and an unquenchable passion for His renown" (p. 204)

Not only does Transforming Prayer take you through the importance of making your prayer time a more worshipful experience, but each chapter has a true life experiences from readers, as well as six fantastic appendixes' that cover the following topics:

***The Privileges, Possibilities, and Provision Related To Prayer
***Face To Face Biblical Experiences With God
***How Jesus Prayed
***Paul's Prayer Requests
***The Bible and God's Glory
***and a great chapter by chapter study/discussion guide

If you have ever wanted to dig deeper and learn about worship-based prayer and how to incorporate in your life, I urge you to read Transforming Prayer by Daniel Henderson. I have read it once for review purposes, but will definitely be going through it again soon and studying it on a more deep level. This book has really changed how I look at prayer and what God truly wants our prayer lives to be.

A fantastic book, which I hugely recommend and give a thumbs up to!
