Hasbro Family Game Night: Review and Giveaway

As a mom of a preschooler and an older toddler, I have finally entered the stage of parenthood where playing board games is becoming a regular occurrence. I am not complaining because I personally love to play board games and so far my girls are as well. We have now started doing family game nights, and have entered the world of Candyland, Chutes and Ladders and Memory, among others.

I have recently teamed up with Hasbro Canada and they sent me a wonderful package of four games to test out and review.

About Hasbro:

Hasbro first started in 1923. Hasbro, Inc. is a worldwide leader in children's and family leisure time products and services with a rich portfolio of brands and entertainment properties that provides some of the highest quality and most recognizable play and recreational experiences in the world. Hasbro is a brand-driven, consumer-focused global company, Hasbro brings to market a range of toys, games and licensed products, from traditional to high-tech and digital, under such powerful brand names such as GI Joe, Transformers, Playskool, Nerf, Star Wars, Clone Wars, X Men, Playdoh, Mr Potato head Lite Brite and SpongeBob.

Monkey Dunk

Flip monkeys in before ELEFUN pops ’em out!

What do monkeys do in the jungle? They monkey around in the lagoon, of course! See how many monkeys you can land in the water to collect the most bananas. But watch where you aim because ELEFUN will pop out of the water, sending some monkeys flying out!

CONTENTS: ELEFUN popper, 16 monkeys, gameboard with backdrop and tray, 20 banana tokens, lily pad blocker, instructions.

My Review:

This game has quickly become a favorite of my 4.5 year old. She plays it almost everyday, even by herself while her little sister naps. I find it a fantastic fine motor building game as she has to learn to flip the monkey's with her fingers. She gets so excited when she is able to get the monkey's in the bins and when Elefun pops. This is definitely a game that will be around the house for a long time to come. And it is perfect for our family of four to play together, which we had done a number of times already.

Elefun:

The butterfly catching game for kids with an elephant full of fun!

Motorized elephant blows colorful butterflies into the air. Kids practice catching skills with handy butterfly net, or gather butterflies where they land. Adorable baby elephant is over 4 feet tall during play!

Includes Motorized Elefun Body, 4-Foot Trunk, 4 Butterfly Nets, 30 Butterflies, Instructions. 4 "C" batteries required (not included).

My Review:

Elefun has provided hours of jumping and running around fun for not only my children but also my home daycare children. We have even used Elefun as part of our Spring Theme as we have discussed butterfly's and catepillars. Again four people can play this game.  After only a few times of playing my oldest has figured out how to reload the butterflies in the elephant and start the game, so not only is it a great gross motor and hand-eye coordination building game, but also builds independence too. Also, we will count how long it takes for butterflies to appear out of the trunk (not long usually) so we can add math to the game too! Another fantastic product from Hasbro that will be used for a long time to come in our home.

Flippity Find:

Race to pile up the most tiles!
Start the timer then start flipping! Pick up any Mickey tile to see who's hiding underneath. Great, you found Minnie! Now look for hte matching Minnie tile on the board to see which character you'll need to find next. Keep flipping tiles until you find Mickey or time runs out. How many character tiles did you collect?

My Review:
Flippity Find is a awesome twist to the classic game of memory and it has been a big hit in our home, due in part that both our girls are huge Mickey fans! The game is designed for three and up, so we have been using it primarily with our oldest child, but have also played it with the youngest without using the timer. This is a game that can be used for multiple ages and thus will last a long time in any home. You will find all your favorite Disney characters like Cinderella, Lightning McQueen, Belle, and more!
Alphie Data-bots Deci-bot:
Deci-bot is the newest member of the Alphie Databot Family. Deci-bot and his colorful keyboard teaches children to count using two modes (Explore Mode and Find Mode) of play for hours of fun. You child can practice counting along with Deci-bot's light up fingers and by using the keyboard.

My Review:
Both my girls have loved Deci-bot and I am also looking at getting the original Alphie for my youngest' birthday in July as a result of our experience with Deci-bot. With light up fingers, your child will be counting to 10 in no time flat.
