Reshaping It All: A Book Review and Giveaway

If you are a child of the 1980's you will remember a great family television program called Full House. It starred Bob Saget, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier, as well as many other wonderful actors and actresses.

One of my favorite characters was D.J. Tanner, portrayed by Candace Cameron. Well Candace has grown up and is now Candace Cameron Bure, a Christian wife and mom, still actiing, and recently released the book, Reshaping It All. I am very excited to share this book with you, and it is my hope it will impact you just as it has me.

About The Book:

Candace Cameron Bure first became known to millions as a co-star on the hit ABC television series Full House. Today, like her brother Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains, Fireproof), she is the rare Hollywood actor who is outspoken about her Christian faith and how it helps overcome certain obstacles.

Bure’s healthy lifestyle has been featured in US Weekly andPeople magazines as well as national talk shows including The View and NBC’s Today. In Reshaping It All, she continues the story, inspiring women to embrace a healthier lifestyle by moving faith to the forefront, making wise choices, and finding their worth in the eyes of God. Candace shares a candid account of her struggle with food and ultimately her healthy outlook on weight despite the toothpick-thin expectations of Hollywood.

More than a testimony, here is a motivational tool that will put readers on the right track and keep them there. In addition to practical advice, Candace offers a biblical perspective on appetite and self control that provides encouragement to women, guiding them toward freedom.

My Review:

I have been struggling with my weight ever since I can remember, particularly since high school. However, its only been since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in January 2010 that I started taking my weight loss and health goals seriously. Therefore, I am always on the lookout for motivating books that will give me tips and ideas for getting healthy. Physical health is just part of it though. I have also been able to make significant changes in my daily walk with God that has improved that area of my life substantially in the last year and a half.

In January I begin my journey with Nutrisystem and have now lost about 16lb. That has been a great start to my weight loss journey, but more importantly since reading Reshaping It All, I have really dug deep as to why I eat what I do, and why I overindulge and have realized that there are more than just physical consequences to this over-doing it.

As you read Reshaping It All you will be brought through the journey Candace has taken with food and she gives great tips, recipes and encouragement as we, the reader, go through our own journey's. She always brings you back to the word of God and makes you realize that spiritual and physical health go hand in hand! I have actually tried a couple of the recipes (one at the end of each chapter) and they are so easy to make and taste fantastic!

I don't want to give too much of the book away, but take my word for it, you will want to read this book! It is a fantastic tool as you get yourself physically and spiritually healthy once and for all.
