Project Dad: Review and Giveaway

With Father's Day this month, I have a fantastic resource to share with you. It will be a huge blessing to any new dad in your life, as well as inspire those who have been dads for a while!

About The Book:

What does it take to build a great dad?

Men like to build things. We like to take parts and put them together to make a whole. Did you know that this do-it-yourself talent can help you become a great dad?

In his fresh, humorous style, Todd Cartmell takes you on an action-packed journey to help you become the dad God made you to be and that your kids hope you will be. You will learn the five key areas that every great dad needs to renovate, including how you look at, talk to, connect with, act toward, and lead your children.

Cartmell shows you that you already have the raw materials at your disposal, then gives you the blueprint for putting them together. Begin your Project Dad today. Your family will never be the same.

My Review:

With humor and sound Biblical principles all dads will be inspired and encouraged to be the dad they were meant to be. The book is divided up into five part, with four chapters in each part. The chapters are full of wonderful tips and idea, but what I loved best (as did my husband) was at the end of each chapter, there was a list of key points and a "Getting To Work" section with personal reflection questions.

Part One: Your Eyes - How You Look At Your Children

Part Two: Your Mouth - How You Talk With Your Children

Part Three: Your Heart - How You Connect With Your Children

Part Four: Your Hands - How You Act Toward Your Children

Part Five: Your Feet - How You Lead Your Children

Although there were many wonderful points made throughout this book, here are a few of my favorites:

"The first step for becoming a great day is acknowledging your need for God's help (p. 216) (works for moms too)

"You have to build a strong relationship bridge with your kids before God can transfer His wisdom and guidance over it" (p. 107)

"God has given you a certain number of marbles, so make the best use you can of every single one." (p. 57)

"Listening is nothing more than letting your child unload his or her truck" (p. 124)

Project Dad is the perfect gift for Father's Day, birthdays, Christmas and even a great idea for a baby shower gift!

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
