Beat The Heat With Hasbro!: Review and Giveaway

During these hot summer months are you looking for a fun way for your kids to beat the heat?

Sure, you could eat ice cream, go swimming, drink water, or sit in your air conditioned home, but what about the classic water fight! I remember having water fights all the time as a child and young adult. We used whatever we could to toss water, whether it was little squirt guns, spray bottles or buckets...the wetter you got your opponent (and yourself in the end!), the better! Over the years, the methods and delivery of water fights have grown to include balloons, hoses, and the ultimate Super Soaker!

Nerf and Hasbro have teamed up to bring you the ultimate in the water fight arsenal!

Super Soaker Hyrdo Cannon:

Get ready for massive soaking action! This powerful, pump-handle blaster fires a water stream to drench your targets from a distance — up to 35 feet away! Pump the handle 20 times for maximum drenching. And make sure you add the detachable blaster shield to protect yourself from incoming water blasts, so you can march right through them to victory!
Water blaster comes with blast shield.

Super Soaker Thunderstorm:
Soak your opponents in an instant with this motorized THUNDERSTORM water blaster! Fully automatic for maximum speed, this blaster lets you just pull the trigger to begin the drenching action. Fill your water clip, attach it to your blaster and begin sending soaking streams up to 25 feet away!
Water blaster comes with water clip and instructions.
My Review:
With the recent warmer (okay, hot) weather we have been experiencing here in Southern Alberta, I was so excited to try out both the Hyrdro Cannon and Thunderstorm with my girls and nephews.
Both are fantastic products but right now the Thunderstorm is the product of choice for my girls. The Thunderstorm is much small than the Hyrdo Cannon and perfect for my girls, being only 4.5 and 3 years of age. I love that they don't have to pump repeatedly with the Thunderstorm, as they seemed to get tired quickly with the Hydro Cannon. That said, the Hyrdo Cannon was perfect for my eight year old nephew. He loved it!
The clip for the Thunderstorm only holds about 10oz of water, but it is very easy to take out, fill and replace, and you can also buy extra clips for it (planning on doing that soon!).  I just left a pail of water out for the girls and they were able to fill up the clip as needed.
The Hyrdo Cannon has some serious water fighting power. Totally not the water guns most of us grew up with, that is for sure. With a range of about 35ft, it will provide hours of water play fun. The only downside that my nephew had with it, is that it takes a lot of pumping action to get shots in....but he still had a ton of fun with it! I would not recommend it for younger children due to its size and weight, but still a great summer product to be sure.
If you are looking for a gift for beating the heat this summer with your kids, I highly recommend both the Hydro Cannon and Thunderstorm Super Soakers!

  26. We don't beat the heat - we enjoy it! There is so much to do when it is warm - hike, parks, picnics, swimming - we really enjoy the heat. Squirt gun battles are right up there too...
