Holiday Gift Guide Day 16: Remembering Christmas Reivew

About The Book:

Rick Denton lives his life on his terms. He works hard, plays hard, and answers to no one. So when his mother calls begging him to come home after his stepfather has an aneurysm, Rick is more than a little reluctant. What was supposed to be just a couple days helping out at the family bookstore turns into weeks of cashing out old ladies and dealing with the homeless guy who keeps hanging around the store. The one bright spot is the lovely and intriguing young woman who works at his side each day.

As Christmas nears, Rick's old life beckons, the hurts from his past loom large, and the decisions he makes will determine more than just where he spends Christmas Eve.

With skillful storytelling, Dan Walsh creates a Christmas story that will have you remembering every good and perfect gift of Christmas.

My Review:

Reminscent of the writing of Nicholas Sparks, you will be drawn into Remembering Christmas from the very first pages. I have had the opportunity to review all of Dan Walsh's work and I am a huge fan! He writes with a simple, heartwarming prose that allows you to visualize the emotions and life of each character within the book.It is a quick paced, easy read that will appeal to all ages.

Within the main theme of love for family, there is romance and importance of faith in God (though done in a very non-preachy manner).  I have seen others mentioned that Remembering Christmas would be a great seasonal movie, and I totally agree! If you have not had the opportunity to read Dan Walsh's work before, you need to!

Dan Walsh will be releasing his 5th novel, The Discovery, in Spring 2012, and it is for sure on my TBR list.  In fact, according to his website, he has signed with Revell to write seven books over the next two years!  He has quickly become one of my new favorite authors and I was super excited to find out that he is teaming up with Dr. Gary Smalley to release a four book series in 2013! As well, he will be releasing three stand-alone titles, so be ready to read some great books in the next couple years.

If you are looking for a poignant, new read for Christmas, I highly recommend Remembering Christmas! You will not be disappointed.
