Holiday Gift Guide Day 17: Mom's Family Desk Planner Review and GIVEAWAY!

During this time of year many people are already looking to the next year and what they can do to be more organized, efficient, and set goals for themselves. One thing that keeps me organized is a great desk calendar. Typically I go through two or three of them a year until I find one that works well. Recently I had the opportunity to review a desk calendar from one of my favorite children's authors, Sandra Boynton. She has created a fun and functional calendar in the Mom's Family Desk Planner and I cannot wait to tell you all about it!

About The Mom's Family Desk Planner:

Moms on the go need a planner on the go! The spiffy personal assistant that slips easily into a purse or bag, Mom s Family Desk Planner helps keep the whole family on track. The 17-month planner boasts a comfortable, smartly designed week-at-a-glance grid on the righthand page of each spread. There is plenty of space for writing down Mom s comings and goings, plus room for the rest of the family s. But this hardworking calendar has a playful side, too. The hippos, the cows, the dinosaurs, the pigs, the obligatory chickens every week s full-color illustration appears on the lefthand page and is pure Boynton, and pure, put-a-smile-on-your-face charm. In the back of the planner are 52 weeks of perforated grocery and to-do lists, plus space for important phone numbers. Front and back covers sport handy storage pockets, and 150 full-color stickers are bound into the book.

About The Author:

Sandy Boynton has been a bestselling Workman author for 28 years.  Her series of children’s board and bath books total over 10 million copies in print and her four book-and-CD sets total over 2.2 million copies in print.  Three of these sets have been awarded Gold Records (sales of over 500,000copies) from the Recording Industry Associate of America, and one of them—Philadelphia Chickens—was a New York Times  #1 bestseller.  Her latest Workman book, One Shoe Blues—contains a DVD starring B.B. King.  In 2008, Sandy was the recipient of the National Cartoonist Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award.  Sandy is also the author of the Mom’s Family Calendar line, a bestseller since it was introduced 13 years ago.  She lives with her husband and perfect children in western Connecticut.

My Review:

Sandra Boynton has been a favorite children's author of mine for several years. With whimsical animal characters and fun, engaging prose, Boynton captures a child's attention from the very first pages of each of her many books. Now, she brings those same characters into a planner designed for moms.

I don't know about you, but I love daily planners or calendars, and would be totally lost if I did not have one. I keep track of appointments, grocery lists, to-do lists and more in my and it is used along side my Home Management Binder. The Mom's Family Desk Planner is for August 2011 - December 2012 and has tons of space to record everything you need to. I love the stickers that you can use to mark special days, but the animal stickers are my favorite! My favorite part of the planner is that there is space to write out my daily activities separate from the rest of my family! This helps to eliminate the need for another calendar all together, perfect for space saving! I also love that each week has its own page and cute pictures from Boynton's books are displayed on each week as well.

Overall, this planner has been a great addition to my home organization goals.

If you are looking for a great teacher gift, stocking stuff or a great gift for the mom in your life, I highly recommend the Mom's Family Desk Planner!
