A Child Is Born: Graphic Book Review

About The Book:

Eisner Award-nominee Billy Tucci faithfully depicts the Christmas story as never seen before in Billy Tucci’s A Child is Born. Adapted from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, and painstakingly researched with Nativity scholars, Tucci’s beautiful artwork brings forth a stunning rendition of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

Digitally painted by Paul Mounts and lettered by Bill Tortolini, this 32-page graphic novella is the perfect Christmas gift.

About The Author:

Billy Tucci is an award-winning illustrator, writer, and filmmaker. A graduate of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, Tucci has sold more than three million comic books worldwide. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he lives with his wife and two sons on Long Island, NY.

My Review:

Billy Tucci's graphic novel A Child is Born is stunningly beautifully and captures the essence of the traditional Christmas story from the very first pages. Although Christmas has come and gone, I just did not get to this review in time. But the story of Christ's birth is one that should be revisited throughout the year, not just in December.

This is the perfect way to read and remember the birth of Christ for fans of comic books. I loved the detail in the book and it is a fantastic way to bring the gospel to a culture that embraces comic books or is not ready to read an actual Bible.

I highly recommend this graphic novella and give it a huge thumbs up.
