Chopsticks: A Book Review and GIVEWAWAY

About The Book:

Paige Winsome has always been in the shadow of her athletic brother and academic sister, and, as a result, feels her musical abilities are overlooked. Kate Kennedy receives plenty of praise for her voice, but her family struggles to make ends meet and must always accept others' charity. The two meet and become fast friends when they find out they have each entered into a music contest that will bring one of them, but only one of them, everything she's dreamed of. Will their friendship survive?

My Review:
Chopsticks is the first book in the Friends For A Season series, designed for readers ages 11-14 years. It is a well written book that brings two girls together that likely would have never met. The life experiences of both girls are such that many pre-teens and teens will relate too, covering themes like self esteem, friendship, the power of encouragement, and more. A great read for young girls and a great introduction to serial books! As a first book in the series, it can definitely stand alone, and I cannot wait to introduce you to the next one in the series soon!
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
