Chasing The Sun: A Book Review

About The Book:

Hannah is desperate for help..
William is determined to regain his family's land...

When her father disappears in war-torn Mississippi, Hannah Dandridge finds herself responsible not only for her younger siblings but also for the Texas ranch her father recently acquired. A marriage of convenience could ease her predicament... but is it the true desire of her heart?

Wounded soldier William Barnett returns home only to find out that his family's ranch has been seized. Though angered at this turn of events, he's surprised to discover that it is a beautiful young woman with amazing fortitude who is struggling to keep the place running.

Despite these circumstances, Hannah and William form an uneasy truce... and an undeniable attraction builds between them. In a land where loyalties are divided in a country ravaged by war, is there any hope that the first blush of love can survive?

My Review:

Another fantastic read from one of my favorite historical fiction authors! As soon as I started the novel, I knew it would be a good one. With romance, mystery, suspense, action and a strong faith message, there is something for everyone. Additionally, the characters and story lines are fantastic and well-written. A simple book yet full of depth, and I cannot wait to read the next two books in the series, when they release. Book 2, Touching The Sky, will release in June 2012 and book 3, Taming The Wind, will release in September 2012. Also, Peterson has two other novels coming out this year, so plenty of great reads coming out for Tracie Peterson fans this year.  It was also clearly evident that much research was done to make the descriptive writing as authentic as possible, something that I love in a great read.

I highly recommend the book and give it a huge thumbs up.
