Love You More: A Book Review

About The Book:

A Stirring Memoir on Parenthood and the Invisible Threads that Bind Us to Those We Are Meant to Love
The obstacles, surprises, and moments of grace that Jennifer Grant experienced, working through the adoption process to bring home her daughter from Guatemala, forever changed her life.
Love You More tells Grant’s deeply personal story of adopting her daughter, Mia. The process confronted her notions about what family means, pushed her into uncomfortable places, and—despite the waiting, adjustments, and challenges of a blended family—brought abiding joy.
Written for all parents but especially those interested in adoption, Love You More includes discussion questions, tips for prospective adoptive parents, and suggestions for readers on how to reach out in love and support for the world’s most vulnerable people, including orphans.

My Review:

As an adopted child, it always fills my heart with joy when I hear of someone adopting a child. It does not matter how that child comes to a family through adoption, be it domestic or international, closed or open, adoption is an amazing gift given to thousands of children every year. Love You More is the beautiful recollection of Jennifer Grant's journey through adoption, and it is simply wonderful.

As I read Love You More, I smiled, cried and laughed as I read each page. The book is very well-written, and keeps your attention throughout. It journey's through the sometimes very long and tedious adoption process, and Grant is very open and honest as to how the process affected her and her family. It is a book that all those considering adoption should read. But truly the book is not just about adoption but the impact of motherhood on women. It is also a great reminder that God is with the family at each point in the adoption process, and though it is easy to get discouraged in the wait, it is in His timing that all things come together.

It is truly a beautiful memoir and I am blessed to have read it. I love that it also includes a number of adoption resources at the end of the book, perfect for those who are considering, or just beginning their own adoption journey.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up.
