Love Does: A Book Review

About The Book:

Love Does shares powerful stories coupled with eye-opening truths and empowers anyone who longs for a better world and a richer faith.

You don’t need another Christian message or a self-help book. You need to have your paradigms about the world shifted into truth. That’s exactly what you get in Love Does. Have you ever noticed that the real change in your life-the growth that sticks and becomes a part of you-never happens with a program or the sheer grit of your best efforts? It happens over time, like a glacier slowly carving valleys through the mountains.
In this book of compelling stories coupled with eye-opening truths, author Bob Goff shows you a new way to live, a way that’s drenched with the whimsy of God’s love and the spontaneity of following where he leads when he says “Go!” In this book, you learn what it looks like to be secretly incredible and advance God’s kingdom everywhere you are and wherever you’re going.
For anyone who’s wanted to change the world but thought they needed money, a committee, and permission to get started, Love Does shows what can happen when you decide to do instead of planact instead of strategize, and fiercely, invisibly fight for the possibility God has gifted you to uniquely see.
About The Author:
Bob is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Restore International, a non-profit organization which was established to address the atrocities and injustices committed against children. With a passion and vision for finding audacious ways to restore justice to children and the poorest of the poor, Restore’s mission is to make a difference on behalf of those who do not otherwise have a voice.
With a team of dedicated people, Restore International has pursued justice for the needy. They have worked with Uganda’s judiciary in bringing to trial over 200 cases, including cases involving children who were languishing in jail without trial. In 2007, the Restore Academy was started.  It is a school in the war-torn region of Gulu, with a current enrollment of 220 students.
In India, Restore has investigated and intervened to relieve minor girls from a life of forced prostitution, leading to the identification and arrest of over 50 perpetrators. Bob’s inspiration has been fueled by the friendships he has developed with others around the world who desire to pursue strategic ways to help people in need.
Bob shares leadership in a Washington law firm, Goff & DeWalt, and is admitted to practice in California and in Washington, where his firm is located. Additionally, he serves as the Hon. Consul for the Republic of Uganda to the United States.  He is also an adjunct professor at Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California, where he teaches Non-profit Law, as well Point Nazarene University in San Diego, where he teaches Business Law.
My Review:
Love Does is a remarkable, encouraging and challenging book to read! You will laugh and cry as you are urged to live out love in your everyday life. I thoroughly enjoyed the many stories that Bob shared throughout the book.  It was an easy read, well written and I truly enjoyed reading about all of Bob's adventures.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up.
