Holiday Gift Guide - C Is For Christmas: A Book Review

About The Book:

The real meaning of Christmas from A to Z
Throughout the centuries so many traditions have woven themselves into the celebration of Christmas that it can be difficult to understand just what the season of Christ's birth is all about.
In C Is for Christmas, David and Warren Wiersbe cut through the fancy wrapping paper and pretty bows to give the background of the events surrounding Jesus' birth. They also explain the reasons for our various Christmas symbols and beliefs. From angels and Bethlehem to yuletide and Zechariah, the authors shed light on a wide variety of Christmas-related topics.
If you feel like something has been missing from your celebration of Christmas, the information in this unique collection is sure to deepen your appreciation for this beautiful season.

My Review:
C Is For Christmas has definitely become one of my favorite new books for this year. It arrived in mid-November, so as many of us are preparing for Advent and Christmas. Warren Wiersbe has been a favorite author of mine for many years, helping to dig deep in Bible study, and C Is For Christmas is another great example of the gift Wiersbe has been given.
This was perfect timing. As I read through the book, I was encouraged with each word. It showed me a really different way to prepare for Christmas. The book is divided up alphabetically with tops like Advent, Manger, Mary, Wise Men and Xmas. This week I am going camp of the subject of Advent and how to really go into December with a less commercial point of few. While its fun to decorate, shop and dwell in the excitement I see in my children, I know that I also need to take time to reflect on the coming celebration of our Savior's birth. This book will be a great tool to do that.
C Is For Christmas can be used by people of all ages, modify it for use with children and use it as a homeschool tool, or even to dig deeper in a study on Christmas for personal study time.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
