Placebo: A Book Review

About The Book:

One man must uncover the truth-even when others will stop at nothing to keep it buried.
While investigating a controversial neurological research program, exposé filmmaker Jevin Banks is drawn into a far-reaching conspiracy involving one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical firms. He seeks answers about the questionable mind-to-mind communication program-and answers to his own family tragedy.
Rooted in groundbreaking science, Placebo explores the far reaches of science, consciousness, and faith. This taut, intelligent, and emotionally gripping new thriller from master storyteller Steven James will keep you flipping pages late into the night.
About The Author:
Critically acclaimed author Steven James has writen more than thirty books, including the bestselling Bowers Files thriller series. He is a contributing editor to Writer's Digest and has taught writing and storytelling on three continents. Steven lives in Tennessee with his wife and three daughters.
My Review:
Steven James has done it again with Placebo! Twists and turns abound aplenty in this well-written novel, that will have you up late into the night reading and wondering what is next for the main character, Jevin Banks. The book is very complex, bringing together the topics of science, pyschology, suspense and philosophy in a fast-paced manner. It has a number of storylines going on, but the one I loved (without spoilers) is the journey that Jevin had to take in order to put a horrible life event behind him, learn from it and move on. Another positive about this book, is that its not near as gory in details as some other Steven James books I have read.
If you have had the opportunity to read any of James' novels in the past, you will definitely love this new book. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the series plays out. If you have never read a Steven James book, 2013 is the perfect time to start!
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up.
