Our wedding is something many of us dream about for many years before the big day ever arrives. However, how many of us actually dream about the actual marriage that follows? I would venture to say, not many people do this but should. Marriage is not just about the pomp and circumstance that comes with planning the ceremony and reception, its about two people who want to live forever together on this Earth as man and wife.
The journey that comes with being married is not roses and sunshine all the time, nor should it be. When you get two people of the opposite sex living together, each with their own personality traits, desires and dreams, there is bound to be a bump or two in the road of life. However, with God at the center and great resources, like Rick Johnson's book, The Marriage of Your Dreams, this journey can be a great one. But this is not your ordinary marriage book, as its meant for women to read specifically. It's a great read to truly understand your man and your role in a successful marriage.
The book is very well-written and organized, and I love that it's a marriage book from the perspective of a man (I find it rare to find a book about marriage from solely the male perspective, usually its a couple writing them). He uses a lot of personal experiences, frank honesty, and straightforwardness that was quite refreshing to read. Through reading this book, Johnson has allowed me to really see how much I actually influence and impact my husband, not only as my husband but as a man in general. Very eye-opening and challenging for sure. I especially loved the enlightening relationship questions that he answered in the book.
This is a book that all women who are married or engaged should read! It will impact your marriage for the better.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up.
