Praying Circles Around Your Children: A Book Review

About The Book:

Mark Batterson shares a perfect blend of biblical yet practical advice that will revolutionize your prayer life by giving you a new vocabulary and a new methodology. You’ll see how prayer is your secret weapon. Through stories of parents just like you, Batterson shares five prayer circles that will not only help you pray for your kids, but also pray through your kids.

Batterson teaches about how to create prayer lists unique to your family, claim God-inspired promises for your children, turn your family circle into a prayer circle, and discover your child’s life themes. And he not only tells you how, he illustrates why.

As Batterson says, “I realize that not everyone inherited a prayer legacy like I did, but you can leave a legacy for generations to come. Your prayers have the power to shape the destiny of your children and your children’s children. It’s time to start circling.”

My Review:

A few months ago I had the opportunity to review The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson, and while initially I was not overwhelmed by the book, I was intrigued to read his new release, Praying Circles Around Your Children.

In the months since first reading The Circle Maker, I have seen many positive reviews of it, and so I went back and re-read it. I am so glad I did. And I am even happier to have read this most recent release from Batterson.

As a Christian parent, I know that one of the best things I can do for my children is to pray for them. I already do that but reading through this book, I have learned a whole new way to pray more effectively. Praying Circles Around Your Children takes the basics from The Circle Maker and makes it completely relatable to parents and caregivers. It is a very easy to read and it is also a very quick read. The author uses many personal stories and scripture to remind parents of the importance of praying for our kids! However, despite the small size, it is packed full of punch! It will change the way you pray forever!

The five prayer circles that Mark Batterson says we need to pray are:

Praying promises from scripture for our children
Making prayer lists for our children
Creating prayer mantras to pray over our children
Forming prayer circles with other parents
Praying through the Bible for each child individually and specifically

If you are looking for an encouraging and inspiring book to help you, in conjunction with God's Word, I highly recommend Praying Circles Around Your Children. I believe this is a book that all Christian parents should have in their personal libraries, and it would be an awesome baby shower or new baby gift for new parents!

I give this book a thumbs up!
