You're Made for a God-Sized Dream: A Book Review

About The Book:

Hello, you . . . The one looking for more purpose and listening for God’s plan. Here’s what that restlessness is really all about: there’s a God-sized dream knocking on the door of your heart. Before you think that sounds too big, let me assure you, God-sized dreams aren’t really about size at all. They’re about the desires God places within you that perfectly fit your heart. God-sized dreams are an essential part of who you’re created to be and what you’re called to do. They lead to more meaning, joy, and connection with the One who gave them to you. In the busyness of life, it’s easy to ignore them or let fear shut them out. But this is your moment. Now is your time. The “more” your heart is longing for has been there all along. Let’s open the door to all God has for you together.
With this life-changing message, Holley Gerth invites you to discover the dreams God has given you-and then dare to pursue them. She takes you by the heart and says, “Yes! You can do this!” and guides you forward with a loving hand. Along the way, she provides insightful questions and offers action plans that will help you take the next steps toward making the deepest desires of your heart a reality.

My Review:
Last year I had the pleasure of reading You're Already Amazing by author Holley Gerth. It truly inspired me, so when the chance to review her new release, You're Made for a God-Sized Dream, I could not pass it up. I am so glad I read it, as its become one of my favorite books so far this year.
With each page read, I felt like I was right in the room with the author, it was written in such a beautiful, conversational manner, and was a very easy read. That said, it also has a lot of information to digest, and I will for sure be going back and digging deeper with the "Go Deeper Guide" that follows each chapter. I also checked out her website and it is loaded with fantastic corresponding resources.
Each chapter takes you on the journey of figuring out what your God-Sized dream is and how to reach it with God by your side each step of the way. She reminds us that our excuses will not keep us from reaching our goals, especially if its one God wants us to meet. We just have to get past the excuses and fear and just move forward to reach the dreams. Just check out some of the chapter titles, and let them inspire you:
-The "More" You're Made For
-You Might Have a God-sized Dream If...
-A Guide To Overcoming Your Fear
-How To Stop Sabotaging Yourself
-Why Your Dream Is Worth It
Here are a few quotes from the book that really resonated with me, in my personal season of life as a mom and wife:
"Don't feed your fear. Feed your faith" (p. 96)
"One of the most important tests of your dream is your ability to push through those times when you feel alone or strange and finish what God has called you to do anyway" (p. 113)
"Perhaps our rainbow is found in these words: He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Phil 1:6). This verse doesn't say if, might, maybe, or hope so - it says the good work will be completed. Perhaps not in the way we plan. Perhaps not in the time we plan. Perhaps not even until heaven. But those desires in your heart? The one you know are from God? They will be fulfilled. He's not teasing you, toying with your heart, making you long for something he doesn't intend to provide" (p. 132)
"You have an opportunity to bring glory and honor to the God who hung the stars in place.  Isn't that amazing? He could do anything with just a breath, just a word, and yet instead he chooses to partner with you." (p. 165)
"Do what you do, be who you are, walk in that sometimes blind, always beautiful obedience" (p. 207)
Have I got your attention yet with this amazing read? If you have a big dream, but not sure what to do with it, check out this book and allow God to work through your dream and make it a reality!
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
