Amish + Quilts = readers delight! And in this first book in Patrick Craig’s Apple Creek Dreams series, readers will follow Jerusha Springer’s journey out of tragic circumstances to a new life of hope.
Jerusha has spent months making the most beautiful quilt anyone in Apple Creek, Ohio, has ever seen, and she knows it’s going to take first prize at the Quilt Fair in Dalton. The prize will be her ticket out of the Amish way of life—away from the memories of her dead daughter and her tormented husband. But on the way to the Fair, she gets caught in the Storm of The Century and Jerusha’s driver crashes their car. While the driver goes for help, Jerusha is led by someone, or something, to the side of a lost little girl. By the time the storm clears, Jerusha finds there is a greater prize to be won than money and blue ribbons.
A beautiful story of loss….and redemption.

Amish Fiction is one of my favorite genres of Christian literature and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading a number of fantastic authors over the years in it. The majority of the authors in this genre have been female, so I am definitely intrigued when a male authors releases a book in an area predominantly female. I have to say this was a fantastic start to the new Apple Creek Dreams Series from author, Patrick E. Craig.
The novel has a couple story lines and I loved how the themes of love, loss and redemption are intertwined with one another throughout. Past and present combined to deliver a wonderful novel! The characters are all well developed and I felt I gravitated to Jerusha the most.
You will be drawn into the world of Apple Creek, Ohio from the very beginning and into the lives of the Amish as well. With each chapter finished, I quickly realized that I have found another new favorite author to add to my ever growing list of favorite:)
The novel was endearing, heartwarming and will have you cheering on each character with each page read. I did not want to put this book down and read it very quickly, thanks to a patient husband and children who kept themselves very busy over a weekend!
I am excited to read the rest of the series, and so glad its not a long wait: Book Two: The Road Home is set to release in June 2013, and Book Three: The Amish Heiress is set to release in January 2014.
If you are a fan of Amish Fiction you will definitely enjoy this book (and I am sure the entire series) and you will for sure find a new favorite author in Peter E. Craig
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
