Adoring Addie: A Blog Review

About The Book:

Not Since Romeo and Juliet Has a Couple Faced Odds This Long

The Cramers and Mosiers have been angry with each other for as long as anyone can remember. Things had cooled to a simmer...until Addie Cramer and Jonathan Mosier fell head over heels for each other. Now old tensions are renewed, and Addie's parents insist she marry stolid and uninspiring Phillip Eicher.

Distraught at a future apart, the two decide their best hope is to reconcile the two families...but that means digging into the past to see what tore them apart. Will their love be enough to keep them together or will long-held secrets ruin their chance at happiness?

My Review:

Two of my favorite genres of literature, Amish Fiction and Shakespeare, have come together via the amazing writing talent of author Leslie Gould.

With strong characters, the enduring story of Romeo and Juliet comes to live in Amish Country (the last place you thought it would), and will hold your attention as much as, if not more, than the first book of this series, Courting Cate. I fell in love with the characters as quickly as they did with one another, and found myself cheering them on! The story flowed nicely and anyone reading will discover that dysfunction exists even in Amish families.

You see the resilience to overcome seen throughout the book and life experiences of each character and family member. Without giving away too much, you will be happy to hear there is a much more appealing ending to the story of Addie and Jonathan!

If you are a fan of Amish Fiction, you will definitely enjoy Adoring Addie. I will add, reading the first book, Courting Cate, is recommended as several references from it are made in this book. Overall, a fantastic read, and I cannot wait to read what is next from Leslie Gould.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
