An Unholy Communion: A Blog Tour and Review

About The Book:

The newest offering in The Monastery Murders series, An Unholy Communion (Lion Fiction).

Following the ancient tradition, ordinands from the College of the Transfiguration gather at first light on Ascension morning to sing their praises from the top of the college's tallest tower. Not one to miss any liturgy, Felicity finds herself swept up in worship as she listens to the timeless words. But her delight quickly turns to horror when a black-robed body hurtles over the precipice and lands at her feet. Her investigative instincts immediately kick in when she sees a double-headed snake emblem clutched in the lifeless hand. Was this suicide? Or murder?

My Review:

I am a huge fan of historical fiction and mystery, so when an author combines both genres, I am usually guaranteed it`s going to be a great read! And I was not disappointed in the third book in this series by author, Donna Fletcher Crow.

While I have not read the first two books in the series it was okay. An Unholy Communion stood out as a stand-alone novel and I was so impressed that I am going to go back and read the rest of the series. I loved that the author combined mystery, religion and life from British history in a way that had me reading late into the night.  There were twists and turns aplenty and I was guessing the results right until the end! It took me a bit to get through some of the historical descriptions, but those only added to the book in my opinion. The characters were all well-developed and storylines flowed nicely.  Overall, a great read that I give a huge thumbs up!

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
