Choose Justice DVD and Conversation Guide: A Review

About The Book:

Most of us are aware that we have a  role to play in making our world a more just and equitable place, but we’re not sure where to start. In Choose Justice, participants will discover that they are not alone on the journey to justice. God loves justice too and longs for His people to follow Him in bringing restoration to our world and to those who have been left on the margins of society. Choosing justice a daily basis—at the mall, at the table, in our celebrations—will change our lives, the lives of those around us and the lives of people we may never meet. With Christ, we can participate in building a better world through the many choices we make every day.

My Review:

I have been familiar with Tony Campolo for several years, have read a few of his books, and listened to his teachings as well. Shane Claiborne is familiar in name only to me. Recently, I had the opportunity to review their collaboration in Choose Justice, a DVD and Conversation Guide. I am so glad I did.

Social Issues are a topic that many Christians and churches are embracing recently and this DVD does a great job at covering the issues at hand in a simple, yet convicting manner.

The DVD is only 58 min total, so I watched each session and then worked through the first two conversations on my own (actually my hubby watched the video with me too!). It is very well done and I felt like I was right in the room with both authors having a coffee with them. The conversation guide is well formatted and easy to work through both individually or as a small group. It would be a great study for an adult Sunday School program as well.

I found the DVD very impacting and through watching it and reading the guide, my husband and I have ended up having a few great discussions about how we can change things in our lives to make a difference to others.

I highly recommend this DVD and guide and give them both a huge thumbs up!
