Jesus on Justice: A Book Review

About The Book:
It’s often hard for us to think of Christ as a radical advocate for justice, someone who bucked the religious and cultural norms of his day. Yet Jesus was indeed like this and he calls us to follow him.
In this fresh and provocative book, Dr. Posterski challenges us to look into what God’s word actually says about justice. He shows how Scripture does not provide specific directives on tax rates or legislation, for example, but instead offers powerful, justice-based principles that can inform our decisions.
As we face the brokenness of our world—human trafficking, racism, famine, and more—these principles become powerful tools. Jesus on Justice will equip you with this biblical knowledge and inspire you to action.

My Review:

From the very first pages of reading Jesus on Justice, I was challenged to think and look outside the box when it comes to social justice issues. Not only did the book challenge me about what I can do as an individual on a local level but what I can also do to be involved on a church and global level. It is very well written and easy to read. You can be certain you will be encouraged to step out of your comfort zone and get dirty and uncomfortable to meet the needs of others. I was definitely convicted to do this! I don't know just yet what God wants do accomplish through me but I am open to whatever it may be. An encouraging read to be sure. The book covers a lot, and I read it very quick for the sake of review, but it is definitely a book that I will be digging deeper into through the coming months and definitely sharing with others!

It is full of amazing discussion opportunities and would be fantastic for a small group or Sunday school format style discussion group. This is a book that ALL Christians NEED to read. It will challenge you, convict you and allow you to live out Jesus' teachings.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
