Women desire to live well. However, living well in this modern world is a challenge. The pace of life, along with the new front porch of social media, has changed the landscape of our lives. Women have been told for far too long that being on the go and accumulating more things will make their lives full. As a result, we grasp for the wrong things in life and come up empty.
God created us to walk with him; to know him and to be loved by him. He is our living well and when we drink from the water he continually provides, it will change us. Our marriages, our parenting, and our homemaking will be transformed.
Mommy-blogger Courtney Joseph is a cheerful realist. She tackles the challenge of holding onto vintage values in a modern world, starting with the keys to protecting our walk with God. No subject is off-limits as she moves on to marriage, parenting, and household management.
Rooted in the Bible, her practical approach includes tons of tips that are perfect for busy moms, including:
- Simple Solutions for Studying God’s Word
- How to Handle Marriage, Parenting, and Homemaking in a Digital Age
- 10 Steps to Completing Your Husband
- Dealing With Disappointed Expectations in Motherhood
- Creating Routines that Bring Rest
- Pursuing the Discipline and Diligence of the Proverbs 31 Woman
There is nothing more important than fostering your faith, building your marriage, training your children, and creating a haven for your family. Women Living Well is a clear and personal guide to making the most of these precious responsibilities.

I have been a long time reader and fan of Courtney Joesph and her blog, Women Living Well. So when I found out she was writing a book, I was super excited. In September my level of excitment grew when I found out her publisher was putting together a launch team to get the word out through Social Media about the book. I applied, thinking that I would love to share with friends, family and my blog readers about this beautiful woman and her thoughts about being a Christian woman, wife and mom. A couple weeks ago, I found out that I made the launch team and I have truly been pouring over the words of wisdom from Courtney ever since!
With the amount of books I read in a year for review purposes, there are always several that just pack a punch and resonate to the depths of my soul. Women Living Well was one of these books. As a review blogger, I try to use discernment when requesting and receiving requests to review books. I find that often most books teach me something, even the novels. It is not often though that a book will have exactly what I needed to read, based on the life season I am in. God definitely orchestrated this opportunity and it is a book that has been highlighted, marked up and will be studied in further detail in the coming months.
For today my review is general, but keep an eye on the blog in the next few weeks to hear more of my thoughts about Women Living Well.
The book is very nicely organized, taking you through your relationships with God, your spouse, and your chilren with strong and frequent references to scripture. Courtney does a fantastic way of making you feel like you are sitting down and enjoying coffee with her, while she pours out her heart to you. Sometimes when I read people's blogs, I think "their life is perfect, and they have not issues" but Courtney reminds us that what we see if not real life, and we are all in different stages and ages and to embrace that and all God to work in and through us, wherever we are.
I have been challenged the most in my marriage as I have read Women Living Well. As much as women see submission as a "dirty word" it really is not, and Courtney was so encouraging to us women who are married and even for those who are not. It was a great way for women who are dating, engaged or even single to see what our roles are. The practical life experiences made me realize that even though we tend to put authors and well-known bloggers on pedestals sometimes, they are human, aren't perfect yet they can teach us.
This book has been a huge encouragement to me as I walk in my own journey with the King and it is one that needs to be read by all women!
You can also get a study guide for the book, making it perfect to use for a book group, small group study, or women's Sunday School or MOM's group.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
