What Women Should Know About Facing Fear: A Book Review

About The Book:

Imagine what women's lives could be without those anxious thoughts, nagging worries, and crippling fears. What if they could finally become the women they were created to be?
Women don't have to be held captive by their fears! The very fear that has held them back can become the force that propels them forward to a deeper faith and a more intimate relationship with God.

Author Christin Ditchfield knows what it is to be bound by fear--and to be set free. Sharing from her own personal experiences and the life-changing truths of Scripture, she helps readers:
  • Recognize the stranglehold that fear can be and break free from its destructive power.
  • Identify their unhealthy responses to fear and discover more effective strategies.
  • Find courage to face their fears head on and conquer them.
  • And, experience for themselves the "the perfect love that casts out fear" and know true Peace.

My Review:

If you are reading this, it is safe to say that you likely are dealing with anxiety, worry and fear, just as I do at times. This book will definitely be one that you will want to refer to and have a part of your personal library for many years and recommend to others who deal with these same issues. I have already lent out my copy several times.

Not only does author Christin Ditchfield do a fantastic job at encouraging the reader but she provides several great tools that will help you overcome fear. God is definitely using this author to meet the needs of those who read this book and I know that there are many women out there that need to read this book (I am one of them). I truly appreciated that while the author wrote about the importance of having a relationship with God to help overcome our fears and anxieties, sharing with us her personal journey, she also did encourage the reader to seek medical and pyschological help if necessary, even including links and phone numbers. The book is a wonderful tool, along with using God's Word, to overcome fear.

The author wrote in a personal, conversational manner making me feel that we were right in a room together. This is a style of writing that I thrive on, and so much appreciate. Also included is a discussion guide at the end of each chapter, making this book perfect for personal and small group/Sunday School study sessions.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
