Ask Me Anything, Lord: A Book Review

About The Book:

When God calls you to make an impact, feelings of fear, doubt, and insufficiency seem to automatically show up. As a matter of fact, they have been making appearances since the beginning of time in the lives of people like Adam and Eve, Elijah, Peter, and many others. And during those times:
  • God asked Adam and Eve, “Where are you?” as a checkpoint for their relationship with Him.
  • God asked Elijah, “What are you doing here?” to bring him out from the places of depression and frustration.
  • Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” to restore their relationship.
In Ask Me Anything, Lord, Heather C. King reminds you that God can use questions in Scripture to reveal the true motives and intents of your heart, challenge your thinking, and help you overcome. Exploring some of the encounters God had with people throughout the Bible and sharing her own experiences, King encourages you to draw closer to God, receive the fullness of His blessings, and boldly move forward.
This soul-searching book includes personal reflection questions, group discussion topics, Scripture memory verses, suggestions for life application, and prompts for journaling—a perfect resource for women’s small group study.

My Review:
Any Me Anything, Lord was one of the last books I read in 2013, but it is one that still impacting me, weeks after reading it. The author uses the lives of some of our favorite Biblical characters and shows us how to let God use us, where we are, with what we have. She is inspiring, encouraging and challenging all in one book! It is scripturally sound, easy to read and I love that she uses personal stories throughout the book, which will make the reader relate on several different levels. While I loved the "meat" of each chapter, my favorite part of the book was the "Make It" sections at the end of each one. These are:
-Make It Personal
-Make It Connect
-Make It Real
-Make It Last
-Journal Prompt
You will be led to dig deep and look at your life and the true intentions found in your life, and make impacting changes from there. A powerful and life changing read to be sure.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
