My Review:
As a mom of two elementary aged children, I have entered a new chapter in parenting, and it is filled with many great times but also challenges. I have moved past the parent books that deal with infants/toddlers and preschools and am now on the hunt for books that will encourage my husband and I in this new journey. One book recently that I discovered is The Secrets of Happy Families by Bruce Feiler.
The book is very nicely organized, with a ton of absolutely fantastic ideas to make your family the happiest and healthiest it can be. The ideas can be used for children of all ages and families of types and sizes! I love that the author emphasized throughout the book that busy families are not always happy and healthy families, that slowing down to be with one another is so much better. It's a philosophy that my husband and I stick with and this book is just a reminder that we are on the right path with how we spend our time. This book is not just about statistics and fact but real life that each person who reads it will appreciate and relate to. We have already developed a family mission statement and will continue to apply much of what was taught in this book with our personal family!
If you are looking for a different kind of parenting book that will impact your family greatly, look no further than this one!
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
