Mason has been working with one of her students, Rafael Cerda, whose brother has been kidnapped by a drug cartel. And with time running out to meet their demands, Rafael is getting desperate.

This is a suspense novel at it's finest, with twists and turns aplenty, with wonderfully developed characters and story lines that will draw you in from the first page until the very last. While it is book two of a series, it serves well as a stand alone novel as well. It does help to read the first book in the series so you are familiar with some of the characters but you won't be lost if you haven't. I especially enjoyed reading an excerpt of the third book in the series, which does not release until Spring 2015. A thrilling and captivating book that was well worth the read.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
