What Your Heart Needs For The Hard Days: A Book Review

About The Book:

We all have days that make us want to pull the covers back over our heads and eat a dozen cupcakes.

Thankfully, Jesus said we don't "live on bread alone"--that includes cupcakes--"but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matt. 4:4). What we really need is truth.

If you're tired, discouraged, or feel a little empty inside, my prayer is that by the end of our time together, you'll be refreshed and nourished in a way that will sustain you through whatever the future may hold.

Remember, you're not alone, my friend.

In this uplifting book, Holley Gerth invites you to be filled with the strength, peace, and joy that come from God's promises. Each of the 52 devotions based on the Psalms will help you remember that God is good and we're all in this together.

My Review:

Holly Gerth has been a favorite author of mine for the last couple of years. I have read each of her books, and with each read God has used Gerth to teach me valuable lessons and allowed me to dig further into His word and learn what He wants me to be and do.

What Your Heart Needs for the Hard Days is a wonderful little devotional that is full of goodness! You will be encouraged with each day's read and will be also challenged and inspired as Holly travels through the book of Psalms. Not only is there a wonderful short reading, a scripture verse to meditate on each day there is also a section called "What My Heart Is Saying To You" (a section that will help you talk to God) and "What My Heart is Hearing from You" (a section for you to journal what God is teaching you through the reading.

I have read about half the book already and its just a wonderful book. It would be perfect for any women in your life that has come through tough times, and is perfect for gift giving to any one who loves the Psalms in general and digging deeper into scripture, specifically.

If you are looking for a great way to study this book, head over to Holly Gerth's blog to sign up for a online bookclub that started September 8, 2014 and runs on Holly's Facebook page
