I have absolutely adored reading The Courtships of Lancaster County by Leslie Gould. It has wit and humor, serious times and funny times, and overall is a delightful Amish Fiction novel from a wonderful author. The fourth book, Becoming Bea, is inspired by the Shakespeare play, Much Ado About Nothing, and was a fabulous read.
The characters and storyline draws you in from the beginning and I loved the autumn colors that made the cover pop. I loved the character of Bea, and it was great to see how her character developed through the novel, as well as her relationship with Ben. It was a fun read, and I loved that some characters from the other three books in the series where re-introduced. This book could be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading the other three books so you are familiar with character histories and story lines. This was definitely a fun way to read Shakespeare for sure, throughout this series. A definite highlight for me to be sure.
I was not sure how the ending of the book would be but it was concluded nicely, without giving any spoilers, and I cannot wait to see what comes next from this author.
I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
