Who's The New Kid: A Book Review and Blog Tour

About The Book:

It's time to get your kid back!

At nine years old, Breanna Bond weighed a whopping 186 pounds. Just walking up the stairs to her room was a challenge. Her legs chafed to the point of bleeding as a result of rubbing against each other, and her school days were filled with taunts of "Hey, Fatty!" Breanna's mom, Heidi, was devastated. But then she decided to do something about it.

In Who's the New Kid? you will discover how Heidi helped her daughter lose weight without the help of fad diets, medication, or surgery - and how you can do the same with your kid!

You'll learn how to:

*get your kid off the couch and exercising
*make easy, nutritious meals the whole family will love
*overcome physical and emotional roadblocks during the weight-loss journey

The best part is that Heidi's plan works! In just under a year, Breanna dropped 40 percent of her body weight and was transformed from a morbidly obese child who spent her days in front of the TV set eating chips and chocolate to a vibrant, healthy, energetic girl.

Filled with helpful diagnostic tools, fun exercise ideas, easy-to-make recipes, and a free 40 day meal and exercise plan, Who's the New Kid? not only shows you how to help your kids lose weight naturally but also introduces you to simple yet effective lifestyle changes that will benefit the entire family.

My Review:

Childhood obesity is one of society's biggest health crisis' and over the last few years we have sadly seen this crisis increase. However, there has also been great strides made by society. While we have seen shows like The Biggest Loser and Extreme Weight Loss both tackle this issue, it is parents like Heidi Bond who have ultimately done what it takes to beat childhood obesity and keep it at bay. After seeing her daughter reach a very unhealthy weight, Heidi decided to make the necessary changes to help her. The book chronicles the journey Heidi and her daughter, Breanna have taken on the road to good health. It was a great read and it is full of awesome ways to get kids healthy and keep them that way. I love the 40 day meal plan, and the fact that the tips and ideas are not only good for kids but for the whole family. The recipes are easy to make, and I even tried a few and they were very tasty, even my girls enjoyed them.

I know full well that if the family does not make changes overall, losing weight and keeping it off, will be very hard. I am so glad that Breanna's family stood with her and filled her life with encouragement through the journey. I was very much encouraged as I read this book.

If you know a family who deals with childhood obesity and needs encouragement to fight, and beat it, this is a wonderful book to read. It is also for all who are interested in helping keep our children healthy!

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
