About The Authors:

The Bond family (which also includes Heidi's husband, Dan, and son, Nathan) lives in Clovis, California.
Jenna Glatzer is the author of 23 books, including Unthinkable by Scott Rigsby, Never Ever Give Up: The Inspiring Story of Jessie and Her Joy Jars, and Unbroken: A Memoir. She has written hundreds of articles for magazines and online publications, including Women's World, Women's Health, Fitness, Prevention, and USA Today. Jenna lives in Stony Brook, New York.
Childhood obesity is one of society's biggest health crisis' and over the last few years we have sadly seen this crisis increase. However, there has also been great strides made by society. While we have seen shows like The Biggest Loser and Extreme Weight Loss both tackle this issue, it is parents like Heidi Bond who have ultimately done what it takes to beat childhood obesity and keep it at bay. After seeing her daughter reach a very unhealthy weight, Heidi decided to make the necessary changes to help her. The book chronicles the journey Heidi and her daughter, Breanna have taken on the road to good health. It was a great read and it is full of awesome ways to get kids healthy and keep them that way. I love the 40 day meal plan, and the fact that the tips and ideas are not only good for kids but for the whole family. The recipes are easy to make, and I even tried a few and they were very tasty, even my girls enjoyed them.
I know full well that if the family does not make changes overall, losing weight and keeping it off, will be very hard. I am so glad that Breanna's family stood with her and filled her life with encouragement through the journey. I was very much encouraged as I read this book.
If you know a family who deals with childhood obesity and needs encouragement to fight, and beat it, this is a wonderful book to read. It is also for all who are interested in helping keep our children healthy!
