The Chase: A Book Review

About The Book:

Only God could have written a love story as beautiful as Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky's. From their teenage days thousands of miles apart when they separately wrote letters to their future spouses, to a chance meeting backstage at a concert, their story brings inspiration and hope to every girl.

It's easy to get impatient for the future to play out, especially when it comes to love. Before long you find yourself chasing the perfect guy and trying to write your own happily ever after. But the truth is, your best future won't be found chasing boys--it'll only come by first chasing God.

In The Chase, Kyle and Kelsey take turns telling their story, with Kelsey sharing secrets to a godly relationship and Kyle revealing the truth about what guys really think. Together they'll show you how to put God first, protect your heart, deal with the loneliness and peer pressure that come along with purity, and see yourself as God does.

Are you ready to trust God with your very own happily ever after? Let the chase begin!

My Review:

This was a read that while it does not directly apply to me, as I have been married for over 18 years, it was still a great read for me as a parent. While my children are several years away from dating, engagement and marriage, there is much in this book that I can take away, store in my memory and refer to once we reach that stage.

The authors are honest about their journey's prior to meeting one another, courting each other, and ultimately marrying one another. I love that they were as honest as they were. They gave practical tips and ideas for developing relationships and how to be true to God and oneself in a relationship. It had the amazing message that we should not chase others, but only God. A great dating book from a Christian perspective to be sure.

It felt as though I was right in a room, and having a conversation with them. This is a perfect read for high school and college age children, youth ministry workers, youth pastors and parents a like.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
