My Review:

Debt and money issues are one of the biggest causes of marital striff in marriages all over the world. I know personally that its been the source of many heated discussions between my husband and I over the almost 19 years we have been married. Looking back, debt is definitely one of the reasons for these discussions. Looking back I cringe at the amount of debt we went into marriage with (student loans were our issue) and yet I also see how far we have come in our money managment and debt repayment. One of our greatest resources for tips and encouragement to get rid of debt has been the books from Mary Hunt! Recently, I had the opportunity to read and review her most recent book, Debt Proof Your Marriage.

Let me first say: I wish I would have had access to this before we were marriage or even in the first year of our marriage. The book is loaded with many wonderful ideas and tips from how to deal with credit cards, money management, to debt repayment. Many of her ideas I have seen before but a refresher was good. One of the things I got from this book was how we, as adults and parents, model financial health, be it good or bad, to our children. This was a huge eye opener and I am glad we have already started teaching them how to positively use money! I love that Mary Hunt doesn't look down on couples for having money issues but gently and kindly moves us from debt to financial freedom with very easy and manageable tips!

This would be a great book for a bridal shower or wedding gift or even for an engaged couple to read BEFORE getting married.

I highly recommend this book and give it a huge thumbs up!
